s To show what happened before Alison went missing, then they got a text from a
mysterious person known as A who threatens to tell all their secrets.
In pretty little liars they began with a flashback to show what happened
on the summer their friend went missing then changed it to focus on the future
and how they moved on.
The format of the show was on Fox Tv in America then it moved to
Netflix.
The purpose of the pretty little liars is for entertainment for young
teenage girls it’s based on a book by author Sara Shepard the target audience
are teenage young girls who are into a lot of fiction and thriller/drama /romance and fans of the author Sara Shepard.
How are people, places,events, values represented?
People are represented in
this program as pretty but with dark secrets. This is a thriller/dram Tv
program so things start to get a bit dark in the program there are codes and convention in the program there is always a dead body in the theme song which represents some might get killed , because of the young viewers they
show the girls dressing up a dead body for a funeral so it could mean that a
lot of people are getting killed.
This TV program could be considered as thriller/drama and romance.
The characters are represented in this program as young, pretty
sometimes rebellious but they have dark secrets that they keep to themselves. In
the show they live in a town called rosewood, rosewood is seen as a small
community that come together after hearing about the death of someone. In
pretty little liars they showed a flashback to when something went in their
lives. the characters values are not really shown in the programme.
what is the narrative structure,style and theme?
The narrative structure has a beginning middle and end. It show us
where the program is set, where the events take place, who the main characters
are and what happens when they face the conflict the programme focuses on the
four trying to face that conflict .
The style of the show is that it’s based on a book.
The theme of the show is to
teach the audience a lesson about keeping secrets and they could not to tell anyone about their darkest past trust
anyone.
the programme sometimes relies on a cliffhanger to make the audience want to know what's going to happen next on the next episode . sometimes it could rely on a dialogue to make audience question what one character is talking about.
