The BBC is a
public service broadcasters because it provides products and services that meet
the remit of informing and entertaining the public and within the public
interest. The purpose of the BBC is to provide impartial news and information
to understand and engage with the world around them it’s also there to help and
support the learning for people of all ages. The audience council England members
help to advise the BBC trust, the BBC governing body in order to ensure that
the views of audiences in England are brought to bear on the work of trust.
Ofcom to
ensure companies provide their products and services in a fair competitive
manner and that the materials are produced are suitable for the specified
audiences
The bcc is
funded by the licence fee. The licence fee pays for a range of TV, radio and
online content as well as developing new ways to deliver it to you in addition to
funding BBC programmes and services a proportion of licence fee contribute to
the cost of rolling out broadband to the UK population
